Marion Jones Sentenced
Olympic gold medalist, Marion Jones was sentenced to six months in prison and 400 hours of community service at the United States Distrcit Court on Friday, for lying to federal agents about her use of performance-enhancing drugs.
"We’re disappointed for a such a harsh sentence,” her cousin, George Hulse said. “She had paid more than enough.”
The sentence Jones received was largely in part due to her alleged involvement in the bank fraud associated with the use of these performance-enhancing drugs. Prosecutors claimed to have a $25,000 check signed by Jones, and testimony of her involvement from many defendants.
