BET Honors

Last night, celebrities showed up in the dozens for the 1st annual BET Honors. Tyra Banks, Cedric “The Entertainer,” Alicia Keys, Dr. Cornel West, Richard Parsons, the Honorable Maxine Waters and CEO Janice Bryant Howroyd were among the honorees.

For the most part, everyone looked nice. Standouts were Tyra (of course) and Alicia Keys.

The Future of Fashion

The runway for the last couple of years has been filled with reinventions. We have seen fashion from the 80’s, 40’s , 50’s and 60’s come back in new, fun and inventive ways. However designers, such as Balenciaga and Maison Martin Margiela have already moved out of the past and into the future with their avant-garde designs.

Last year, for his Fall and Spring 2007 line, Martin Margiela debuted exaggerated shoulder pads and future-esque dresses that seemed inspired by the Jetsons.

Balenciaga also looked to the future with Robot inspired looks.
